MedFood UK LTD a company based in west London which distribute fine Mediterranean food.
We were assigned the task of creating and designing a professional website for this west London based company which operates all over the UK.
West London, in particular The Park Royal industrial state and Alperton have been one of the largest and greatest places for companies such as MedFood in order to compete with their rivals and present their ideas to consumers; therefore we were assigned to create a website which shows the true qualities of this company and help them stand out from the crowd in which they compete in. A company with food products need to entice their customers into being intrigued to buy. This website has what it needs in order to create an enticing design. The rotating banner with different types of colourful foods, has images which can persuade a customer to surf the page for a longer period of time. We are proud to have worked with such clients and co-operated with them in a way so that they could reach the goals they have wanted.

If you’ve struggled with Web designers in the past, or currently, and you’re trying to find a better way, then we’ve compiled some guidelines that may just help your current or next project run a little smoothly. We hope. We’ve worked, and continue to work, with a lot of Web designers through our client projects. What we’ve come to learn is that designers of Web sites face some unique challenges, coupled with the challenges of perception from many clients.

Web designers are a hybrid. Designers must first understand the nuances of “graphic design” such as layout, typeface/font, semiotics and colours. They must then integrate this knowledge and skill into the technical constraints of the Web. This is far from simple. The design and technical issues must also tie in with usability (how people use the Web) and then with the “information architecture” of the site overall.

When you speak with a graphic designer who works in traditional mediums, such as a print brochure, there is still a lot to consider, but there are fewer technical elements such as the constraints of the end-users monitor size, speed of access, browser types and computer platform or business layer applications the Website may have to integrate with. Web design is a complex ballet of moving parts that when well executed result in a person moving about a website with ease, not even realizing how much complexity is hidden beneath the design. So what are some main points to consider in working with a Web designer:

It’s Not Lightening Fast: Many clients work on the assumption that because a designer is using a computer then the design is easy and should be quite fast. A website design often starts with a pen and paper drawing, and then goes to Photoshop for some trial and often work with several iterations before you ever see the draft for consideration. This can take a few hours to a few days.

Many Considerations: A good Web designer will ask you a lot of questions, to clearly understand what you’re goals are, the business needs and the vital elements. To make a project run more smoothly, haves much of this worked out in advance. The more you have worked out, the easier it is for the designer and the less chance the original scope of work will change. A designer will make recommendations on changes based on their experiences. This can be invaluabale to a successful project.

A Small Change Can Be Very Big: Even just changing the colour of a button or two can have a broad impact on overall site navigation and take a number of hours. Changes are often necessary during the design process, but should be considered carefully.

The Clients Responsibilities: At times during the project the designer will need some help. This is most often items like content, images, video and audio files. A designer will ask for these in certain formats (i.e. a jpeg or png image, a wav. file etc.) waiting for these items can significantly delay a project from completing.

Do Your Own Testing: We’ve been surprised by how many clients leave all the testing to the design firm. A website, even just a microsite, needs testing. You should try to break links, make sure they go where they’re supposed to and review the content for spelling and correctness. While the designer will have a QA process, they may be too close to the trees to see the forest.

The best way to work with a Web designer is to understand they have many parts to consider when building a site. The applications used in the site, widgets, database integration, Content Management Systems and their limitations on top of the design. Open communication, clear setting of expectations and timelines can help lead to a successful Web project.

Here are ten sure-fire methods to make sure that your readers leave your site and never come back. Follow these tips to create a site that people will never want to visit. Alternatively, learn what not to do, so that you can create a Web site that people love and stick with for a long time.

Use impossible navigation on your site

If your readers have to be you to understand how to get around your site, chances are they won’t. Navigation is one of the most crucial parts of your site, and if you’re not constantly re-visiting it to make it better and more intuitive for your readers, then you are losing them to some other site that is easier to find things in.

Put up too many images

Images slow down your page loading, and lots of images mean that your page can load in minutes instead of seconds. This gives your readers plenty of time to head to Google and find a faster site.

Embed too many tables

The more tables you nest, the slower your page will load. Modern browsers will now display the site as best they can before all the tables load, but the layout you’ve spent hours developing will take minutes to completely render. And that’s time your readers will spend elsewhere.

Pay no attention to your readers

If your readers contact you or indicate through stats that they are interested in a specific topic, you should avoid that topic completely. This will insure that your readers will not find what they want and so won’t come back.

Put up more ads than content

While you might feel that the ads serve a purpose, if there are more ads than actual content, your readers will notice and not stick around. And what good are ads if no one is there to read them?

Do not maintain your site

A site with outdated information or errors seems like a site that no one cares about. So why should your readers? Even if you can’t update your site with new information daily, you should strive to update it weekly or perhaps rotate what is displayed daily, without adding new content.

Require too much information

Requiring too much information in order to gain access to the site doesn’t convince people to give it to you, instead, they leave and don’t return.

Be too cutting edge

While it is fun to put up the most innovative and new technologies on a Web page these can often cause problems for the readers. Pages that crash browsers or are simply too intensive for the customers’ systems do not encourage repeat visits.

Crash your customers’ browsers

Nothing makes a customer want to avoid your site like a spectacular crash. This is often caused by poorly written JavaScript or Java.

Use sound on a business site

If you are trying to attract business people to your site, then sound is a bad idea. Many people browse the Web from their offices, and sudden music (especially the tinny, mechanical wav files on most Web sites) quickly reveal that they are not necessarily working.

Your business marketing strategy is the single biggest factor which determines the success or failure of your business. It doesn’t matter if you sell widgets from an office in your house, or run a multi-million dollar company. It is just that simple. Get it right and you prosper. Get it wrong and you go the way of many others who have failed before you. This is true on main street, and on the internet as well. No matter what you do, the proper business marketing strategy essentials remain the same, only the application of them has to adapt to the needs of your particular business. Do not confuse business marketing with simple advertising. Your business marketing strategy should affect every aspect of how you run your business. It is the heart and soul of a successful business.

There is a lot of information out there about internet marketing available, both online and offline. The vast amount of information available to a small business owner can be overwhelming and quite confusing. That is why many small business owners are too intimidated by internet marketing to make a serious effort to grow their business with the power of internet. That is really a shame because when you strip away all the hype and the latest “secret of the day” the basis are really quite simple. Whether you want to learn enough to do the internet marketing for your business online, or you want to be informed well enough to make wise choices in outsourcing the internet marketing for your business, it is critical that you understand the big picture.

It is my firm belief that the success of your business depends upon your ability to get yourself noticed, and then to provide the incentive for people to help you grow business by their loyalty and what they say about you. It is really just that simple on the internet and on the street. The differences lie only in the techniques that you must use to make that happen.

On the internet you have essentially two ways of getting your business noticed. You either buy advertising or you earn it by getting your name out there and associated with the services of your business. Hard to believe it is just that simple, isn’t it? The core idea is simple enough. It is putting that idea into practice and making concrete marketing plans that determines your success or failure.

There are many methods to buy your way in front of the screens of your potential customers. As with all advertising, it can be very cost effective, or a complete waste of your time and money, depending upon the skill with which you can target your spending your prime customer group. The great thing about advertising on the internet is that you can test return on investment very quickly and effectively without the kind of huge financial commitment you would need for a similar campaign on the street. A prime example of internet advertising is Google Adwords text ads that are on the top and right column of all their search results, and on millions of sites on the web. The other online service providers such as Yahoo and MSN have their own version of these text ads. There are many other forms of advertising which I will discuss in future articles.

The other way to get yourself in front of your target customer group is to earn it. The object is to get yourself listed as highly as possible in the search results for terms of interest to you , and to get your business direct traffic from other sites that mention your services. The best way to do this is to provide information that other websites find useful for their viewers. This requires a commitment to effort and cash to make it work, but the results are much more permanent than buying advertising. Personally I much prefer this method since you get long term results for your efforts. However, you must know what you are doing in order to get the maximum return for your efforts.

It is just that simple, and that complex!

As Economy Gets Worse, Marketers Put Money in Content Marketing Even in tough economic times, money is still flowing into content marketing initiatives. In a December 2008 content marketing research study from Junta42, an online content marketing resource and vendor-matching tool, more than half of marketing- and publishing-decision makers plan to increase their content marketing spending for 2009.Dorsey Marketing Inc. Voluntarily Recalls Three G and J Gourmet Market Cocoa Products: 120126, 120129, 120144 … Dorsey Marketing Inc. (DMI) of Ville St. Laurent, Quebec, Canada, is voluntarily recalling the following three G and J Gourmet Market cocoa products because these products may contain melamine.Chrysler does away with job of chief marketing officer AUBURN HILLS, Mich. Chrysler said Friday it is eliminating the job of chief marketing officer, with Deborah Meyer stepping down immediately. The automaker also said Philip F. Murtaugh, chief executive for Asia, will leave the company at the end of the month. Chrysler says both are leaving to pursue other opportunities. (AP)3 Article Marketing Tips You Must Not Miss Did I say you need to write what your readers want and not what you want? Article marketing is good for ranking in the search engine for targeted keywords for traffic, building your credibility as an authority, and getting subscribers and sales.

eMotion leisure is situated within the Kensington Close Hotel in the heart of Kensington, London.
Kensington is a district of west London, England within the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea.
eMotion provides a great contrast from the hustle and bustle of the city by providing their guests with a luxurious tranquil retreat. Competition in the leisure industry is very vast, therefore in order to compete in such an industry in West London you need to have a well structured website which suites the enterprise. A web design which transfers the tranquility and energy of relaxation of the leisure centre into the Internet. We have done this by structuring the layout in a way that pictures have the first say before words do. And the colours chosen have and affect on the humans psychological mind which reacts in a certain way with different levels of brightness and contrast.
